When your manager or bookkeeper sends an entry back to you, it’s because something needs fixing — maybe a clock-out time is off, or a break wasn’t recorded. PayPunch lets you correct the entry yourself and resubmit it.
You can only correct entries that have been rejected. Approved, pending, and exported entries can’t be edited — if one of those is wrong, ask your manager. Start from the Rejected entries page to find entries waiting for you.

Make a correction

1

Open the rejected entry

Go to Rejected entries and tap Correct This Entry on the one you want to fix. The correction form opens.
2

Read the rejection reason

The form shows why the entry was rejected at the top. Use this to understand exactly what to change.
3

Fix the times

Update the Clock In and Clock Out date and time, and the Break time in minutes, so they reflect what really happened.
4

Add a note (optional but helpful)

In Correction Notes, briefly explain what you changed and why. This helps the reviewer approve it faster.
5

Submit the correction

Tap Submit Correction. The entry is resubmitted and goes back to Pending for another review.
Your Clock Out time must be after your Clock In time, or PayPunch won’t let you submit. Break time is entered in minutes (for example, type 30 for a 30-minute break).

What happens after you submit

  • The entry status changes back to Pending.
  • The person who rejected it is notified that you’ve made a correction.
  • They’ll review your updated entry and either approve it or, if it still needs work, reject it again with a new reason.
If an entry gets rejected a second time, repeat these steps — read the new reason, make the fix, and resubmit. There’s no limit on corrections.
