Your bookkeeping organization can have multiple admin users. Users &
Invitations is where you invite teammates, assign their role, and manage their
access. Managing users is a SUPER_ADMIN-only capability.
Admin roles
PayPunch has three admin roles:
| Role | Can do |
|---|
| SUPER_ADMIN | Everything, including managing users, unlocking pay periods, and editing branding |
| ADMIN | Day-to-day work — companies, employees, time, payroll, reports |
| VIEWER | Read-only access; can’t create or change records |
Invite a user
Create the user
Add a new user with their First Name, Last Name, Email, optional
Phone, and a Role (SUPER_ADMIN, ADMIN, or VIEWER).
Send the invitation
Choose to send an invitation. The new user receives an email with a link to
set up their account.
Resend an invitation
If a teammate didn’t receive or acted too late on their invite, resend the
invitation. This revokes any pending invitation and issues a fresh one with a
new expiry.
Manage existing users
You can update a user’s name, email, phone, role, and active status, and
deactivate users who leave. Each user has an invitation status (pending or
accepted) and an activity log of their actions.
Inviting, editing, deactivating, and resending invitations are all
SUPER_ADMIN-only. You can’t change your own role or deactivate yourself —
ask another super admin to make those changes.
