# Quickstart: Employees

> For field workers and staff — clock in and out with your PIN, take breaks, and check your hours in PayPunch.

This quickstart is for **employees**. You don't need an account or a password — just your **PIN**.
Your employer set it up for you; if you don't have one yet, ask your manager.

  <Step title="Go to the time clock">
    On the shared device, open the **Time Clock** at `https://paypunch.io/timeclock`. See
    [Logging in](/get-started/logging-in).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Identify yourself">
    Choose **Employee ID**, **email**, or **phone**, then enter your **PIN** on the keypad.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Clock in">
    Tap **Clock In** to start your shift. PayPunch records the time automatically.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Take breaks">
    Starting a break? Use the break controls so paid and unpaid time is tracked correctly. See
    [Breaks](/employee/breaks).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Clock out">
    At the end of your shift, identify yourself again and tap **Clock Out**. PayPunch calculates
    your regular and overtime hours.

  <Step title="Check your timesheet">
    Review your hours anytime on [My timesheet](/employee/my-timesheet). If something's wrong, you
    can [correct an entry](/employee/correcting-entries) or fix a
    [rejected entry](/employee/rejected-entries).

  Your PIN is yours alone — never share it or clock in for a coworker. Punches are recorded
  against whoever's PIN was used.
