# Notifications

> Review and manage your PayPunch notifications, and mark them as read.

PayPunch keeps you posted with **notifications** — payroll submissions that need
review, time-off requests, document activity, and other events that need your
attention. The **Notifications** page is where you read and clear them.

## The Notifications page

Open **Notifications** from the sidebar. Each notification shows a **title** and
**message**, when it was sent, and whether it's been read. Unread notifications
are tracked with a count so you can see how many need attention.

## Manage your notifications

* **Filter** by read state (all, read, or unread) and by **type**.
* **Search** notifications by keyword.
* **Mark as read** to clear a notification once you've handled it — read
  notifications drop out of your unread count.

Some notifications include an **action link** that takes you straight to the
relevant page — for example, opening the payroll submission or time-off request
that triggered it.

<Tip>
  Use the unread filter at the start of your day to triage everything new, then
  follow each notification's action link to act on it in one click.
